【Rare】Submerged Wood Carving Turtle Chopstick Rest Ornament Interior Wiped Lacquer Set★

Moguri-gi (buried wood) is wood that was buried underground approximately 5 million years ago and has fossilized into charcoal.

Moguri-gi crafts are made using such precious ancient buried wood.

It is no longer collected today.
Over long periods, buried wood hardens and turns black, with beautiful wood grain emerging.

The type of tree for buried wood is difficult to determine,
but many are estimated to be zelkova, pine, cedar, or Japanese ash.

Due to the long process of carbonization over many years, buried wood is characterized by its beautiful wood grain and robustness.

To express the beautiful wood grain, the urushi (lacquer) coating process is repeated, with each piece carefully finished one by one.

This is a chopstick rest or ornament shaped like a turtle, a symbol of longevity.

*Due to the difficulty in obtaining materials today, this is a rare item that is challenging to produce.
