Pair Ruby Red Glass Bud Vases Tapered Cylinder 9 Inch Deep Red Tall Set

Ruby glass is the one colour in the entire palette that people read as expensive before they read anything else about the object. The reason is gold. True ruby and cranberry glass took its colour from gold chloride struck in the furnace, which made it a luxury material for three hundred years and trained everyone's eye long before modern selenium formulas made the same colour cheap. These are the modern formula and the label on the base says so plainly, a 2009 import, tapered cylinder, nine inches. That is stated up front because the shape is the part that actually matters here, and the shape is very good. A clean taper from a narrow foot to an open rim is the hardest silhouette to hold in pressed glass, and it is the one that makes a single stem look composed instead of lost. One on each end of a mantel with one flower in each, and you have a symmetry that costs twenty two dollars instead of two hundred. That is the whole argument and it does not need a longer one.
