A pair of very charming Ainu wooden carvings, purchased at Lake Mashu in Hokkaido in 1968.
Details: This is a pair of wooden carvings depicting a man (Ekashi) and a woman (Fuchi), with an integrated base.
Engraving: The underside of the base is engraved with Mashu-ko 43.9.18 (Lake Mashu, September 18, 1968), indicating it is a vintage item from approximately 58 years ago.
Condition: While there are minor scratches and wood dryness due to age, there are no major cracks, and the strength of the hand-carving from that era remains intact.
Size: 24cm and 25cm, base 1cm.
