G-AC-BASS-FL by ESP Acoustic Fretless Bass
G-AC-BASS-FL by ESP
Acoustic Fretless Bass
Natural Satin
List Price: ¥55,000 (tax included)
I purchased this used about a month ago to play in an acoustic band, but the acoustic band plan fell through, so I am selling it as it is no longer needed.
The reason I chose this bass is that the strings are strung through the body, so it is not susceptible to the so-called bridge lifting problem.
Since the through-body stringing area is not hollowed out of the mahogany, the string vibrations are effectively transferred to the body.
The pickup at the base of the neck is passive, so no battery is required.
Description
It is manufactured using the same method as the G-AC guitar. The body is a hollow construction made by hollowing out a solid mahogany block, and spruce is laminated on the top to cover it. The neck is mahogany, the fingerboard is pau ferro, and the scale is 753mm, slightly shorter than a short scale. A single-coil-sized pickup is mounted between the fingerboard and the soundhole, and the controls are located on the body side on the 4-string side. The strings are strung through the back of the body, and there is still body remaining under the bridge, so you can rest assured even with the strong string tension of a bass. A finger rest, useful for fingerstyle picking, is also standard equipment.
The fingerboard surface is painted, which reduces wear from the strings.
The scale is 753mm, but since the strings are strung through the body, short scale strings cannot be used. Medium scale strings are also uncertain, so I use long scale strings. I currently have roundwound strings on it, but flatwound strings are also recommended.
It is in beautiful condition, but there is a small white area on the corner of the neck (photo 6). This is not a scratch but appears to be a paint issue.
No neck warp. No control issues. No crackling.
The truss rod has not been touched by me or the previous owner.
String height at 12th fret: 4th string approx. 2.5mm, 1st string approx. 2.2mm.
Unlike other acoustic-electric basses, the body is thin, so the unplugged sound is relatively quiet. I used it amplified.
For practicing alone at home, the unplugged sound is just right.
Only the items shown in the second photo are included. A stand is not included.
Note: This is a used item, although it is in beautiful condition. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for a new item or are sensitive about condition.
