N/A Vintage 1950s Blue Lucite Compact Mirror Atomic Starburst Mid Century Modern

A beautifully preserved 1950s department store Carryall vanity compact case and evening clutch. The outer lid is crafted from premium, heavy acrylic lucite featuring a pearlescent, marbled sky-blue and white swirl pattern. The face shows an iconic Atomic Age sunburst or dandelion seed-pod design delicately detailed with white graphics and accented with tiny clear glass rhinestones. The reverse side features a smooth finish, framed by a high-gloss gold-tone metal border. The secure front latch opens smoothly to reveal a high-polish gold-tone interior frame. Features a large, clear glass vanity mirror showing light, authentic vintage silver ghosting/foxing along the edges that proves its age. Includes its original, incredibly clean pink velvet powder puff. Opposite the powder well is a spring-loaded, textured gold-metal door that flips closed seamlessly. This inner compartment was historically designed to hold a vintage pack of cigarettes, cards, or folded cash for a formal night out.
