Mexican Tonala Pottery Bird Candle Holder Folk Art Figurine Hand Painted VTG 4"

VTG Tonala Mexico Pottery Bird Candle Holder Hand Painted Signed Folk Art This is a charming vintage hand-painted pottery bird figure from Tonalá, Mexico, doubling as a small candle holder or bud vase with the open cup formed on its back. The burnished cream body is decorated in the classic Tonalá palette of cobalt blue, forest green, rust brown, and turquoise, with a hand-painted floral design on the underside and dotted-eye detailing on the face. Signed on the base Tonalá Mexico with an artist's mark. Measures approximately 3.5 inches tall. Consistent with mid-century Mexican folk pottery production; shows typical age with a bit of glaze wear and a couple of tiny stable hairlines, but no active chips or structural damage — displays beautifully as a shelf or mantel piece.
