NO OFFERS. PRICE FIRM. NO EXCEPTIONS. antique noritake serving tureen with beautiful floral pattern. Does have large chips which are zoomed in on in photos. Still a very servable piece for good china. The backstamp on the bottom confirms this is an authentic antique Noritake M in Wreath mark, specifically featuring a green-and-yellow cartouche with the letter M (standing for Morimura) and the word JAPAN printed underneath.Age & Historical BackgroundProduction Era: This specific configuration—using the word JAPAN instead of NIPPON—places the production window between 1921 and 1940.The Import Connection: The M honors the Morimura brothers, the company founders and primary distributors who established the prominent New York import house to supply fine porcelain directly to Western markets. The Pattern IdentityBecause this piece is from the pre-World War II era, it is considered a Mystery Pattern. During the early 20th century, Noritake mass-produced thousands of hand-painted variations for export without formal pattern names or numbers etched on the bottom.Collectors and inventory archives typically categorize this pattern by its exact visual traits: Noritake Multicolored Floral with Green Rim and Tan Scrollwork. Because these distinct pieces were sold individually as open stock, matching additions are still actively traded on collector forums.
