Vintage Mexican Tlaquepaque Pottery Lidded Pot Casserole Hand Painted Redware

Wonderful vintage Mexican Tlaquepaque redware lidded pot with handle, likely 1930s–1950s. Hand-thrown and hand-painted terracotta with striking geometric and abstract motifs in slate blue, black, cream, and green over a burnished red-orange ground — that unmistakable pre-war Tlaquepaque folk art look with Art Deco influence. Lid features a concentric wave design with original vent holes. Approx. 10” long including handle, 6.5” diameter bowl, about 5” tall with lid. Charming honest age: expected paint wear and small glaze flakes consistent with age (see photos), no cracks or chips to the body. A beautiful shelf and kitchen display piece for collectors of Mexican folk art, vintage tourist pottery, or rustic southwestern decor. Sold for decorative use only — vintage Mexican redware glazes typically contain lead and this should not be used for cooking or food. #tlaquepaque #mexicanpottery #vintagepottery #redware #folkart #southwesterndecor #terracotta #handpainted #rusticdecor #bohodecor #collectiblepottery #artdeco
