Schilke 13A4a

US Size:

This mouthpiece was developed for Mike Vax, a lead player popular in big band and pop music, who has led bands such as the Stan Kenton Band.

Inner diameter is slightly smaller than a Bach 5.
The rim is flat and thick.
The cup is a gentle W cup, similar to a Bach E.
It has a soft feel against the lips, with a clearly defined outer edge for easy grip.
Throat: #27 (3.66mm)
Backbore: Approximately Warburton 6.
The shank end thickness is 1.05mm, which is thick and features Silky's characteristic slicing process.

Furthermore, at a certain brass instrument specialty store in Okubo, a bend was added to the mouthpiece.
Even when pressed, the upper lip is not overly compressed, and the design makes it difficult to fatigue even when playing high notes.

It produces a rich, powerful sound with a solid core.
High notes are easy to play, with a brilliant and resonant blowing sensation.
It offers easy control of brilliant, speedy high notes.
This is a convenient mouthpiece for pop music and high note playing.

There are no major scratches, dents, or plating wear that would interfere with playing.
