Kenko Multi-Coating Filter & Optical Filter 52mm

This is a set of Kenko 52mm multi-coated filters and optical filters.

Thank you for looking.

These are protective and corrective filters for camera lenses made by Kenko, a major Japanese optical equipment manufacturer.
They come in vintage packaging typical of the 1970s-1980s and are housed in distinctive crystal-cut style plastic cases from that era. Among old lens enthusiasts, they are still cherished as accessories that maintain the atmosphere of the time.

1. Product Types
◯ Left (Gold Box): MULTI COATED FILTER
• This is a type with a multi-layer coating applied to the lens surface.
• Role: Reduces light reflection, minimizing flare and ghosting. It's similar to an early model of what is now called an MC Protector.
◯ Right (Silver Box): OPTICAL FILTER for COLOR
• The for COLOR designation suggests it's a filter for adjusting the color temperature of color film (e.g., to add blueness under incandescent light, or a skylight filter).

2. Features
• Case: A substantial plastic case, characteristic of Kenko products from that era, with the Kenko logo on the lid.
• Size: The filter frame should be engraved with numbers like 52mm or 55mm on the side. If this matches your lens's filter thread size, it should be usable.

Important Notes ① Condition: As far as can be seen, there is no significant mold on the filter frame (black ring part) or glass surface. However, as they are old items, there may be some haze or cleaning marks when held up to the light.

Important Notes ② Usage with Modern Cameras
These filters can be attached and used with current digital cameras. However, please be aware of the following:
1. Coating Performance: Compared to modern digital-specific filters, the anti-reflection performance is lower, so you may experience more white haze (flare) when shooting against the light.
2. Age-Related Deterioration: The ring holding the glass may be seized, or old oil may have seeped out.
*Please understand that these are used items and purchase them on a no-claim, no-return basis.
