Vintage Japan Rooster Scouring Pad Holder | 1950s 1960s Wall Mount Kitchen Spong
Unbranded
I couldn’t leave this little guy behind. Made in Japan in the late 1950s or 1960s, this cheerful rooster was designed to hang beside the kitchen sink holding a scouring pad. The front reads, “I’ll Hold Your Scouring Pad,” and it’s exactly the kind of quirky kitchen piece that makes me wonder how many family dinners it quietly witnessed over the years. Pieces like this don’t come along often anymore. They were made to be useful, but decades later they’re just as appreciated for the character they bring to a vintage kitchen, cottage, or farmhouse collection. Condition This piece has clearly been well loved and used as intended. There is paint wear to the comb and wattle, a few small flea bite chips, light glaze wear, and some age-related staining inside the holder. It remains structurally sound with no cracks or repairs, and the “Japan” mark is still present on the interior. All wear has been photographed. Approximate Measurements * Height: approximately 5 in * Width: approximately 6.5 in * Depth: approximately 2.75 in Please review all photos as they form part of the description.
