This is a large-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with a wide-angle focal length of 17mm. It features two aspherical lenses, including a ground aspherical lens as the first element, which effectively corrects distortion that tends to occur in wide-angle zoom lenses. The adoption of an inner focusing system maintains high image quality from infinity to the minimum focusing distance. The ring USM is used for AF drive, achieving silent, high-speed AF. It also offers excellent usability with features such as full-time manual focusing, which allows manual focus adjustment even in AF mode, and a rear gelatin filter holder.
