Yuta Orisaka, a talent praised by many musicians, including Hikaru Utada, Masafumi Goto (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION), and Sohei Yamamada (AL, ex: andymori).
His unique singing voice, which seems to emanate from his entire body, captivates everyone.
The latest work, Heisei, completed by absorbing the atmosphere of the times, features a diverse range of songs that hint at elements of jazz, folk, Latin, chanson, Brazilian music, and even hip-hop. Orisaka's vocals also showcase a richer variety than ever before, from expressive vocalizations to narration, scatting, and poetry. While boldly transcending eras and genres, his lyrical world, which evokes familiar scenes and emotions, connects with each listener's now, much like a minstrel.
The universal and unconventional nature of his overwhelming singing heart, which draws from roots music from ancient and modern times, East and West.
In addition, this is the most important work of 2018, skillfully hybridizing it with modernity.
Photography by Masayuki Shioda, who has photographed artists such as Shintaro Sakamoto and OGRE YOU ASSHOLE, and jacket design by Sei Suzuki, who has worked on STUDIO VOICE and ele-king magazine.
