Vintage Jupiter-11 Soviet Lens 135mm f/4 - Excellent
The Jupiter-11 135mm f/4 (often referred to in Russian as Jupiter-11) is a vintage Soviet-era manual focus telephoto lens. It is a highly regarded classic known for its compact rocket ship metal build, sharpness, and the beautiful, smooth background blur (bokeh) produced by its 12 to 15-blade aperture system. Optical Design & Rendering Heritage: The lens is based on the legendary pre-WWII Carl Zeiss Sonnar optical design, consisting of 4 elements in 3 groups. Color and Contrast: It produces a warm color cast and natural, smooth skin tones, making it exceptionally popular for portrait photography. Bokeh: Thanks to its high blade-count aperture, it creates perfectly circular and pleasing out-of-focus highlights. This is an extremely good copy of this incredible lens. The barrel of the lens shines nicely. It has no large marks or scratches and no oxidation. It shows minimal signs of use. The glass is clean and clear showing no scratches, cleaning marks, fungus, major dust, separation or haze. The 12 blades are free of oil and are very shiny. The exposure rings clicks nice and works well. The focus ring moves easily and smoothly. The lens ships with a rear cap. A lens hood is supplied with a cap as opposed to a cap directly on the lens.
