First, please decide if you are a beginner or an experienced player.
If you are purchasing as a beginner, please let us know that you are a beginner and the instrument you use.
The tube is a crucial part, so much so that it's considered part of the instrument.
Furthermore, there is compatibility between tubes and instruments.
Please specify your tube based on the recommendations below.
Experienced players can choose from the following three types of tubes:
YC: Chiarugi 46mm Recommended instruments: Rigoutat, Josef, Loree, Buffet Crampon, Fox, Marigaux, etc.
YG: Guercio D12 46mm Recommended instruments: Marigaux, Yamaha, Mönnig, etc.
YM: Guercio GC1 46mm Recommended instruments: Marigaux (same shape as Marigaux 2 with a copper content of 35% in the metal part)
*For Marigaux Users: Advice on Tube Selection*
For Marigaux instruments, you can choose from the three tube types above. The tone color, in my personal opinion, is as follows:
YG: Fuller, rounder tone
YC: More focused tone than YG
YM: Softer, fuller tone
Please try them out and find your favorite.
If you don't mind, please answer the following questions, which will help us in creating your reed:
1) Years of oboe experience
2) Instrument used (manufacturer, model)
3) Reed preference
a) Ease of blowing (harder, normal, easier)
b) Tone color (round, sharp, normal)
4) Tube specification: Please specify YC, YG, or YM.
If no specification is given, we will make it with YC.
Instrument used by maker: Marigaux 29/910
*Minor requests can be accommodated.
*Will be shipped in a carrying case.
*Prices have been revised due to increased material costs.*
