Vintage Erphila Germany blue and white duck pitcher

Whimsical ceramic duck pitcher with removable head lid. It features a glossy, whimsical art-pottery style with a distinctive blue-headed duck lid, white body, and a built-in tail handle for easy pouring. This specific model was manufactured in Germany (as marked) and imported to the United States between the 1920s and mid-20th century. The number 70719 serves as the factory mold or inventory design number. Erphila is not a manufacturer, but rather a famous mark used by the Ebeling & Reuss giftware importing company based in Philadelphia. The name combines Ebeling, Reuss, and Philadelphia.
