Description
Stunning, authentic mid-century modern zodiac sunburst wall plaque featuring the sign LEO (The Lion). Produced during the peak of the 1960s celestial decor trend, this piece is solid sand-cast aluminum, making it incredibly durable compared to fragile chalkware from the same era. The front features a beautiful, stylized high-relief central medallion surrounded by a sunburst frame detailed with the 12 astrological signs. The back is clearly stamped with the maker's mark E. MESA and the production/copyright year 1969. It features a built-in hanging loop on one of the outer star points for easy, flush wall mounting. * Sign: Leo (July 23 – August 22) * Year: 1969 * Maker: E. Mesa * Material: Cast Aluminum / Brutalist Finish * Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minimal wear consistent with age. No cracks or breaks. Ready to hang! (Please see photos for details).
