Description
Stunning, authentic mid-century modern zodiac sunburst wall plaque featuring the sign SCORPIO (The Scorpion). Produced during the peak of the late 1960s celestial decor trend, this piece is solid sand-cast aluminum. It is exceptionally durable and will not chip or break like fragile chalkware from the same era. The front features a beautifully stylized high-relief central medallion depicting the iconic scorpion, surrounded by a multi-pointed sunburst frame detailed with the 12 astrological signs. The back is clearly stamped with the maker's mark E. MESA and the production/copyright year 1969. Product Details: * Sign: Scorpio (October 23 – November 21) * Year: 1969 * Maker: E. Mesa * Material: Cast Aluminum / Brutalist Finish * Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minimal wear consistent with age. Sharp casting lines, beautiful original patina, and no cracks or breaks. Ready to hang! (Please see photos for details).
