Retro Haori Jacket, Tsumugi Fabric, Pine Design, Black, Family Crest, Swallowtail Butterfly
Unearthed during a cleanup of my family home. Likely a kimono from around the early Showa era (1926-1989). I'm not well-versed in kimonos, so the details are unclear, but the length is approximately 106cm. The fabric has a distinctive texture with threads protruding. It appears to be hige-tsumugi (beard紬), a type of tsumugi silk where the ends of the threads are left exposed on the surface instead of being woven in. Even though I rarely deal with kimonos, I thought this was a beautiful piece. It's very old, so there is some wear and tear, as well as some moth holes. Photos of the most significant moth holes are included. Considering its age, it's in relatively good condition overall, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about the condition. The color is black. It features the family crest of a swallowtail butterfly. The inside has a painting of a pine tree. The material of the fabric is unknown. Shipped anonymously.
