Authentic vintage butcher or kitchen knife from the Diamond Edge line produced by Shapleigh Hardware Company. Shapleigh operated from 1843 until the early 1960s, and their Diamond Edge cutlery was widely sold through hardware stores across the United States.  Based on the stamp style, wood handle construction, and blade profile, this knife was most likely produced between the 1920s and 1940s.  Original carbon steel blade with natural aged patina from decades of use.
