Description
This vintage pinback button commemorates the Truck Drivers, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen & Helpers, specifically Local 908, from the year 1973. The design features a dark blue background with bold yellow text and a central gear motif, a common symbol in labor union iconography, representing industry and solidarity. The text clearly identifies the union members it represents: TRUCK DRS., CHAUFF., WHSMN. & HLPRS. and prominently displays the year 1973 and the local number (908). The button is constructed with celluloid over tin, a classic method for pinback manufacturing, and features a straight pin with a C-clasp on the reverse for attachment. The back also bears an imprint, likely a union bug and maker's mark, though obscured by time. This collectible piece offers a glimpse into the history of American labor unions, making it a significant item for collectors of Teamsters memorabilia, union history, and vintage pinbacks.
