Vtg MCM Murano Style Sommerso Fishtail Vase - Emerald & Cobalt - 9.5" Heavy 3lb

This is a striking example of Mid-Century Modern Sommerso art glass, featuring a classic Fishtail (or Split-Rim) silhouette. The design utilizes the complex Sommerso technique to submerge a vibrant emerald green layer within a deep cobalt blue, all encased in a thick, heavy clear glass casing.  Standing 9.5 inches tall and weighing a solid 3 lbs, this piece has the significant heft expected of authentic, high-quality vintage art glass. The biomorphic, pulled-rim design is reminiscent of work by Italian masters like Flavio Poli or the Oball factory.  Origin: Likely Murano, Italy. While it lacks a signature or label, the pulled, asymmetrical tricot or handkerchief rim and the heavy, clear glass base are hallmarks of 1960s-70s Venetian production.  Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to the body or the delicate points of the rim. The polished base shows light, age-appropriate shelf wear/scratches consistent with a genuine vintage piece. Clear glass is bright with no clouding (sickness).
