Description
This appears to be a cast bronze mortar and pestle. Some sites with similar images say it’s brass. It has a cast appearance on the bottom and seams. The bottom is very shiny and stamped RA. The outside has a shiny brass color with some wear. The inside shows a lot of wear, indicating that this piece was in use, not just decor. It is vintage and possibly antique. This inside also shows some oxidation on a brown patina. Weight 2.5 lbs. Mortar: Height 4 inches Diameter 4.5 inches at top 4 inches at base Pestle: 6.5 inches long This piece would be perfect if you’re looking for something primitive, old, with a lot of character. Please share if you know more about this. I always love learning new things. I will certainly not take offense. Thanks for looking!
