G pens allow for expressive variations in line thickness, making them suitable for Japanese characters, English, and symbols.
I've heard that calligraphy instructors use them for writing in Reisho and Tensho styles.
Among nibs, the G pen allows for the thickest lines and makes it easy to vary line weight. Some practice is required to master controlling line thickness as desired.

Also suitable for manga characters and effect lines.
Line thickness variation (thick lines for strong pressure, thin lines for light pressure) means you can switch between thick and thin lines by adjusting the nib's angle and pen pressure.

◆About Nib Manufacturers◆
Lion nibs were produced by the office equipment company LION, but they are no longer manufactured.
Production and sales of nibs ceased in 1996, over 20 years ago, making them a disappearing brand.

Currently, the Japanese nib brands available are Tachikawa, Nikko, and Zebra.
Nikko's brand has been inherited by Tachikawa, so only Tachikawa and Zebra are the current manufacturers.

There are claims that older products perform better.
During the period of high economic growth, around 1985 (Showa 60), the production of dip pens reached an astronomical figure of 1 million gross (1 gross = 144 pens).
However, with the changing times, government offices and banks also shifted to ballpoint pens.

Nibs:
In the past, many nibs were produced by a large workforce, including many skilled workers.
It is said that they still use the same manufacturing machines from that era.
The number of workers has drastically decreased, and many of the workers from the mass production era possessed high skills.
I have heard that products from that era are superior, but please consider this as a reference.

Furthermore, chrome-plated nibs show little deterioration and are said to retain their original performance even today.

I also enjoy practicing penmanship and change my nibs depending on what I am writing.
