This is a new, unopened item of Aizu E-rosoku, a traditional craft from the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture.

This is a masterpiece hand-painted by master craftsman Chojuro Usu of Yamagataya Honten, a long-established shop with over 250 years of history.

The gorgeous and popular iris pattern is beautifully depicted on a Japanese candle made with sumac wax.

Born from the custom of northern regions where fresh flowers are unavailable in winter, this craft is used to decorate Buddhist altars in place of flowers. Even without lighting the flame, it can be appreciated as an art piece to decorate a Japanese-style room as interior decor.
