[Not for Sale] Kyoto Yasuda Nenju Ten Co., Ltd. Genuine Myoshinji Temple Old Pine Root Prayer Beads

This item was found inside a Buddhist altar when we were closing down my grandparents' altar.
I do not know when, where, or how it was obtained.

As this item is made from carved raw wood, I believe it would develop a sheen from the oils and dirt of human hands with use. However, this item shows no such signs and appears unused.
Although it has been stored, there is almost no sign of use, and both the beads and tassels are in beautiful condition.

Due to lighting, it appears yellowish, but in reality, it is more whitish and cream-colored.

[Description]
This is an extremely rare set of prayer beads, specially crafted by the renowned Kyoto shop Yasuda Nenju Ten for Kingyu-in, a Rinzai Zen head temple, Myoshin-ji. It was not sold to the general public.

[Rarity of Materials]
As stated in the accompanying booklet, it is made from the root of an old pine tree over 350 years old that was located within the grounds of Myoshin-ji. This is a special wood that grew while listening to the sound of a national treasure bell for centuries, and it is a material that cannot be obtained today.
I confirmed this by calling Yasuda Nenju Ten directly, and they stated that it was a custom-made item produced as a commemorative gift or present. This is a masterpiece that combines the reliable craftsmanship of a long-established store with historical significance.
We hope to pass this on to someone who understands its value and will cherish it.
