Thank you for viewing my listing.
This is the renowned PILOT μ (Myu) 701 from the 1970s.
It gained attention for its completely integrated design, where the tip of the neck shaft forms the nib, and its streamlined, futuristic aesthetic.
Its popularity has not waned, with a revival edition being produced, and it remains a masterpiece by Pilot with fans worldwide.
Due to my passion for this model, I own multiple units and am offering this one to organize my collection.
It comes with its case, price tag (extremely rare), converter con-40, and a cartridge.
Production of the Myu began in April 1971, and this particular pen is from the first year of production, manufactured in September 1971 at the Hiratsuka factory.
Some early units do not have the line width indicated, and this item is one of them.
Furthermore, it is unclear if this is an early specification, but while most Myu pens have a black circular price sticker, this one features a cosmic-designed price tag, which is overwhelmingly rarer than the price sticker.
The tag indicates F (Fine), and since there is no engraving on the barrel, the tag's notation is the only clue to the line width.
Although this is a pen from approximately 55 years ago, it is in excellent condition with virtually no scratches or even scuffs.
The pen point is perfectly aligned, and the lacquer on the feed, which tends to peel, remains beautifully intact with a lovely sheen.
To ensure it remains unused, I have refrained from test writing.
I could prove the feed is clean by disassembling it with tools, but disassembly inevitably puts some strain on the main body, which I would prefer to avoid.
If you wish to see the feed, please let me know, and I will carefully disassemble it and upload images.
Named μ701 to signify a cosmic model leading Pilot in the 70s, this is a first-year unit without line width indication.
It is overwhelmingly rarer than units with price stickers due to its tag specification, and unused items are rarely available.
If you are looking for a particularly valuable unit among the μ701, I would be honored if you would consider this opportunity.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped via Raku Raku Mercari or Yu Yu Mercari.
If you are not satisfied with the product upon arrival, I will accept returns, including shipping costs.
Thank you for your consideration.
