Wooden Masu Cup and Yakusugi Sake Cup Set
19.67 $
Description
Wooden sake cup and masu set, simple and practical design.
The small masu and sake cup are made from Yakusugi cedar.
The dense growth rings characteristic of Yakusugi and the solid wood of the masu emit a wonderful aroma. Drinking sake from it allows you to enjoy a flavor similar to aged sake.
The felling and transport of living Yakusugi trees (standing trees) have been completely prohibited by law since 2001 for environmental protection. Currently, only domaiboku (buried wood) and windfallen trees that were felled during the Edo period to before the war and left unattended are available on the market. Furthermore, the auction of new domaiboku ended in March 2019, making these items extremely rare.
