Antique Ink Stick Holder with Wheels, Tortoise Carving, Zelkova Wood, Carved Inkstone, Carpenter's Tool, Old Tool, Period Item
13.20 $
Description
An extremely rare ink marker with wheels, featuring intricate carvings.
Ink markers have long been considered the soul of carpenters, with skilled craftsmen being particularly particular about their tools. The design of a turtle and wave-like decorations are finely carved.
The smoothly rotating wheel (pulley) section, in particular, is beautifully crafted and exudes an overwhelming presence as an ornament or interior piece. The lustrous sheen (patina) that has developed from years of use conveys a genuine style that has passed through many years.
How about this for antique tool collectors, those looking for architectural antiques, or as an accent for Japanese modern interiors?
