Succulent Plant, Senecio articulatus, Bare Root, 4th Class Mail

US Size:

The succulent Hekigyo-ren is characterized by its cute appearance, resembling small fish lined up. A key feature compared to other succulents is that it prefers water and fertilizer. The trick to growing it is to provide plenty of sunlight and ventilation, and to water thoroughly when the leaves become wrinkled. How to grow Hekigyo-ren Location Spring/Autumn (growing season): Prefers a location with plenty of sunlight and good ventilation. Exposing it to ample sunlight will tighten the plant and give it a slight pink Momiji color in winter. Summer (dormant season): Weak to high temperatures and humidity, so manage it in a cool, bright shaded area (such as under eaves with good ventilation), avoiding direct sunlight. Winter: It can be grown outdoors as long as it is not exposed to frost, but it is safer indoors or under eaves. Watering Spring/Autumn: Loves water. The sign to water is when the leaves become slightly wrinkled. Water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom of the pot. Summer/Winter: Growth slows down, so reduce watering. However, complete drought can cause it to die, so water lightly (a small amount) a few times a month in the evening, just enough to moisten the surface of the soil. Soil and Fertilizer Soil: Use well-draining soil for cacti and succulents. Fertilizer: Since it likes nutrients, it will grow vigorously and healthily if you give it a small amount of slow-release fertilizer (top dressing) during the spring and autumn growing seasons. Propagation (stem cutting) Hekigyo-ren can be propagated relatively easily. Cut the overgrown stems to about 5cm. You can immediately plant the cut stems in soil (unlike other succulents, they tend to root easily even when planted in moist soil). Manage in bright shade until rooted, and water to keep the soil from drying out.

Upon purchase, the plant will be removed from its pot and shipped via Fourth Class Mail.
