The leaves have a bright green surface with dark green edges and alternating large and small patterns. The undersides of the leaves are a deep reddish-purple.
Calatheas show the top of their leaves during the day by bending at the base, but at night, the leaves stand up towards the sky, showing their undersides. This movement is called nyctinasty or sleep movement.
Height: Approximately 25-29 cm (from the bottom of the pot)
??Care Instructions
Prefers partial shade to bright shade.
Dislikes dryness, so take care not to expose it to direct air conditioner drafts.
??Watering
Water before the soil surface dries out. It also prefers high humidity, so misting the leaves frequently is recommended.
??Fertilizer
During the growing season (May-September), use a liquid fertilizer diluted even further than the recommended ratio. Alternatively, apply slow-release fertilizer every two months.
We will ship the plant as a bare-root cutting, with the roots moisturized and packed in a Nekoposu (Japanese mail service).
We will pack it carefully, but please understand that leaf breakage or soil spillage may occur.
