- Akadama Soil
This is blended as a basic soil using standard akadama soil. It is a slightly acidic soil with very little nutrients and good aeration, forming a granular structure that mosses prefer.
-Perlite
When mixed throughout, it provides even water retention.
-River Sand
Helps moss rhizoids to anchor easily.
-Charcoal
Adjusts the pH to prevent the soil from becoming too acidic and adsorbs and purifies waste products from moss.

[Soil Suitable for Moss Terrariums]
1. Nutrient-Poor Soil
Moss does not require a lot of nutrients.
2. Clean Soil
Since moss is grown in enclosed glass containers, use the cleanest soil possible. Undecayed organic matter such as dead leaves can cause mold to grow.
3. Granular Soil
Granular soil allows air and water to penetrate more easily than clay-like soil.
4. Slightly Acidic Soil
Strictly speaking, the preferred soil pH varies by moss species, but many mosses used in terrariums prefer slightly acidic soil.
