This is a seedling of Azuma Gojo Matsu, one of Japan's three great five-needle pines. Known as the pine of the Azuma mountain range in Fukushima Prefecture, it is characterized by its delicate and elegant foliage and is widely recognized in the bonsai world. The height of the seedling itself is approximately 8 cm above ground. Although it is a small seedling, the base has a natural charm unique to Gojo Matsu seedlings, which cannot be achieved with grafted plants. Its current appearance is charming, and its excellent foliage makes it a promising specimen for the future. Please excuse any minor damage to the leaf tips. Please remove the wire before it bites into the bark. Azuma Gojo Matsu exhibits more individual variation in foliage length, shortness, and color intensity compared to other Gojo Matsu varieties, even within the same species. Its growth rate is slow, and root development is gradual, so repotting requires some care. You will receive the individual shown in this photo (management number AGY-3120), which will be shipped via fourth-class mail on weekdays only. We will take sufficient care with moisture during packing, but please refrain from purchasing if you will have difficulty receiving the package for an extended period. Furthermore, please understand that we cannot offer discounts, as raising Gojo Matsu seedlings from carefully selected seeds and achieving germination rates is not easy. *The horticultural tag and flower stand shown standing in the image are for photography purposes only and are not included with the product.
