This is a 6-year-old seedling of a Zao Go-yo-matsu (Japanese White Pine). The height of the seedling itself, above ground, is approximately 8.5 cm. Although it is a small sapling with slow growth, its wild-looking roots and slender, long needles are characteristic of the Zao Go-yo-matsu. This variety is very fond of water, so please water it before it dries out. It is known as the Go-yo-matsu of the Zao mountain range, located on the border of Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures. It is a mountain-type Go-yo-matsu that is difficult to obtain at general garden centers and challenging to acquire seeds for. Similar to Azuma Go-yo-matsu, some care is required when repotting. You will receive the individual plant shown in the photo (management number ZGY-7040), which will be shipped via fourth-class mail on weekdays only. We will take sufficient care with moisture during packing, but please refrain from purchasing if you will have difficulty receiving the package for an extended period. Furthermore, please understand that we cannot offer discounts, as raising Go-yo-matsu seedlings from carefully selected seeds is not easy, from seed acquisition to subsequent germination rates. (The gardening tag and flower stand shown standing in the image are for photography purposes only and are not included with the product.)
