Ikenobo shears with warabi-te (fern handle) are used for cutting flowers in ikebana and flower arrangements. The warabi-te is used to crush the cut surface of hard branches to improve water absorption. The blade angle is sharpened to a keen edge to cut without crushing the fibers of the cross-section, allowing for better water uptake and longer enjoyment of your arranged flowers.
