【Rice Paddy Experience at Home】Mochi Rice Seeds, 15g. Perfect for Bucket Rice Cultivation. Product of Nagano Prefecture.

These are Mochigome (glutinous rice) seeds.

These are rice seeds grown using traditional cultivation methods.
The seedlings were raised, transplanted, and harvested without the use of animal compost, medicine, fertilizer, or electric machinery. The rice was dried on racks and threshed using a foot-powered thresher.

We are offering these seeds so you can experience growing rice at home.

We counted the seeds, and 5g contained approximately 200 seeds. This should be enough to grow in a bucket.
Please understand that due to manual selection, the seeds may contain stems other than seeds, empty husks, damaged or cracked seeds, and small seeds other than rice seeds. We will include slightly more than 15.0g.

Cup (for soaking seeds)

Example steps:
① Soak seeds → Change water daily
② Plant sprouted seeds in a planter, etc.
Once sprouts emerge and leaves grow to 5, transplant to a bucket.
Fill the bucket with soil and water to create a muddy consistency.
④ Grow in a sunny location.

When I first tried growing rice in a bucket, I was worried I might kill it, but I was able to harvest successfully. While it's ideal to observe and care for it daily, there were times I couldn't tend to it for a few days. Even so, I was deeply moved by the strong life force of the rice that continued to grow.

To grow large, healthy rice plants, it's important to place them in a location that receives plenty of sunlight. Buckets make it easy to move them to sunny spots. You can also grow rice in styrofoam containers, but it's best to keep them in a fixed location.

Even if you're unsure about something, I think it's fun to just try it.

○ We were able to harvest with upland rice. However, the yield was less compared to paddy rice.
○ We cannot guarantee that all seeds will sprout, but I have been growing rice in my paddy field every year using these seeds.
○ Parts other than the seeds will be included. Also, some seeds may not be separated individually. It is easier to manage if you separate them one by one when soaking.
