[How to Sow]
Sow in rows or broadcast, cover with about 1 cm of soil, and press firmly.
[Benefits]
? Soil Improvement
By extending roots deeply, it improves the soil's granular structure, enhancing drainage and aeration. This creates a better growing environment for vegetables.
? Organic Matter Supply
Produces a large amount of organic matter as it grows. Incorporating this into the soil increases the organic matter content and promotes microbial activity.
? Nitrogen Fixation
Symbiotic with rhizobia, it fixes atmospheric nitrogen. This increases the nitrogen content in the soil, supplying essential nutrients for vegetable growth.
? Pest Suppression
Attracts natural enemies of pests. This helps reduce pest damage.
As a wild variety of oats, when cultivated as a preceding crop for radishes and other vegetables, it suppresses the population of striped flea beetles.
It also suppresses the population of root-knot nematodes, which cause continuous cropping problems in root vegetables.
? Grass Mulching
Moisture Management:
Absorbs water when it rains and prevents surface drying when it's sunny.
Temperature Regulation:
In summer, it blocks direct sunlight to suppress ground temperature rise and prevent moisture evaporation. In winter, it protects the soil from drying, prevents ground temperature from dropping, and provides insulation.
Weed Suppression:
Grass mulching blocks sunlight that would otherwise reach weeds, suppressing their growth.
Soil Protection:
Prevents soil erosion and mud splash during rainfall.
Origin: Australia
Seed treatment applied
Seeds are not for consumption.
