【About the Watch】
・This is a pocket watch made by the American Illinois company, handled by Tiffany. It is a Grade 437 from the first generation of the XT (Extra Thin) series, designed as an ultra-thin model. As shown in the photos, it features a 19-jewel center bridge with rubies also placed on the barrel bridge. It is a 12-size, manufactured in 1919.
・This series was designed by Illinois with all its resources after World War I, in response to the growing preference for Art Deco and thin designs. It is divided into three generations: the third generation has a 3/4 plate, while the first and second generations have a center bridge. This unit also belongs to the first generation, which was only produced for a short period before being succeeded by the second generation, resulting in an exceptionally low production volume. Even for the most produced Grade 437, only 2060 units were made. However, this does not mean this generation was treated as a test model; in fact, most units appear to have been sold by high-end jewelers with solid gold or, like this unit, high-quality gold-plated cases.
・As mentioned above, the movement of this watch is a center bridge. The bridges have a simple brushed finish, which conversely highlights the rubies of the barrel and the slightly larger second wheel. The absence of a regulator is a testament to the confidence in the basic design.
・The gold dial has a vertical hairline finish and slightly distinctive Arabic numerals. The Tiffany logo is in the center. The case is 25-year gold-plated with a two-tone finish of green gold and silver. The sides feature fine engraving on the case back side, and the hinged case back has decoration surrounding an engraving area.

【About the Condition】
・There are scuffs and scratches due to age on the inside and outside of the case. The scratches on the inner lid are somewhat noticeable.
・The condition of the crystal and dial is generally good.
・There is some dirt on the movement.

【Operation】
・Confirmed to be running for 24 hours. The daily difference is 1 minute after 24 hours, which is good.
