★Mix of 3 types of Hiyuna seeds, 3.5g (approximately 5000 seeds)
2025 Harvest
Hiyuna is a relative of amaranth, which has recently gained attention as a health food. While amaranth is generally used for its seeds as a grain in Japan, Hiyuna is consumed for its stems and leaves.
The 3 types have different leaf colors: solid green, green with red in the center, and entirely red.
? Green: The leaves are soft, with a yellowish-green hue rather than pure green. Small and large leaves sprout continuously from the stem in all directions. When lightly blanched, they have very little grassy smell or unique flavor, and a tender texture.
? Red mixed: When blanched, the pigment leaches out, dyeing the boiling water red. In Vietnamese cuisine, there are dishes that utilize this colored soup.
? Red (Red Amaranth): This variety is a red-leafed edible amaranth that develops good color from a young age. It has no strong flavor and can be enjoyed in salads or stir-fries.
Nutritionally, it is rich in calcium, iron, vitamin A, and vitamin C, with significantly higher content than spinach. It is said to be effective for conditions like atopic dermatitis.
?? Sowing period: April-May, September-October
Optimal germination temperature: 25-30℃
