Natural Coral Sand, Coral Gravel for Saltwater Aquariums, Layout, Interior Decor, 500g

Natural Coral Sand, Coral Gravel for Marine Aquariums, Interior Use, etc. This is Okinawan sand that can be used as a layout material or for interior decoration in aquariums, with a particle size of approximately 1mm and weighing 500 grams.

Suitable for marine fish filter tanks, crab and hermit crab tanks, interior decoration, layouts, and for keeping fish that prefer alkaline conditions.

When coral sand is added to a fish tank, minerals dissolve, maintaining the pH in a neutral to alkaline range. This stabilizes water quality, making maintenance easier.
It also suppresses bacteria and actively promotes the decomposition of ammonia nitrogen from fish waste.
Biological filtration fosters the growth of bacteria, creating a favorable environment.
For freshwater aquariums, it is commonly used as substrate for African cichlids and hermit crabs.
Guppies and platies prefer slightly alkaline conditions, so they are compatible with coral sand.
It is not recommended for use with many medaka or goldfish. If using for medaka or goldfish, a small amount is recommended.
Using it without washing can cause cloudiness in the aquarium water, so we recommend washing it before use.
