?? Spring Sown ? Holy Basil Seeds - Tulsi - Herbs - Over 400 Seeds + 8 Flower Spikes
Thank you for viewing.
This listing is for the seeds of the popular Holy Basil Tulsi, available every year. This year, we have carefully dried the ripe flower spikes that have turned black and prepared them for you.
Self-collected seeds, harvested between October and November 2025.
Pesticides: Not used during cultivation.
This variety is well-suited to the Japanese climate, and its aroma is soothing and easy to grow.
Characteristics include purplish undersides of the leaves and large seeds.
Tulsi is a variety of Holy Basil, a sacred herb from India. In Ayurveda, Tulsi, meaning incomparable, is considered a sacred herb that is the elixir of immortality. It is expected to help reduce stress, improve immune function, aid digestion, and provide antioxidant effects.
The taste is mild and the flavor does not easily dissipate even when heated, making it suitable for herbal teas, Pad Krapow (Grapao) rice, pizza, basil pesto, and more.
[How to Grow]
Sowing requires a sufficiently warm temperature, with soil temperatures of 25°C or higher. Please note that seeds will not germinate in cooler temperatures.
Choose a location that receives plenty of sunlight and has good ventilation.
In winter, by tilling the soil and mixing in fallen leaves and rice bran, you can create a fluffy soil rich in microorganisms, which will promote healthy growth.
Keep the soil moist until germination. To encourage bushier growth, pinch back the tips when the seedlings are about 20 cm tall and repeat this process to promote side shoots. Young plants are susceptible to pests, so daily observation is essential. Be mindful of dryness during the peak of summer.
Occasional application of liquid fertilizer or top dressing will ensure vigorous growth.
Harvest until the cold weather sets in during autumn.
Instructions are not included.
We carefully inspect the seeds. Seeds with insufficient plumpness, small seeds, or damaged seeds are removed, but we cannot guarantee that all seeds will germinate.
