Handmade Oshie Wall Decoration "Colorful Flowers"
Oshie (Pressed Flower Art) / Wall Decoration / Handmade / Remade from Old Fabric / Chirimen (Crepe Fabric) / Calla Lily Flowers / Early Summer / Japanese Style Accessory / Western Style Accessory / Flowers of May-July
Thank you for viewing.
I have created an oshie artwork featuring calla lilies.
I aimed to express the elegant and dignified beauty of the calla lily's simple, sleek form.
Calla lilies bloom from May to July. (Perhaps due to global warming? The calla lilies in my garden have already bloomed.)
Calla lilies are part of the Araceae family and were brought to Japan by Dutch ships during the Edo period.
Their Japanese name, Oranda Kaiu, is said to mean Dutch Taro, referring to the flower's root, which resembles that of a taro plant.
Interestingly, the part that appears to be the flower in a calla lily is actually a modified spathe (bract), with the yellow part in the center being the true flower.
Spathes come in various colors, including white, pink, yellow, and deep purple, each giving a different impression.
Their flower meanings include Magnificent Beauty, Maiden's Grace, and Purity. The white calla lily, in particular, signifies Purity, which makes sense given its frequent use in wedding bouquets.
This piece would make a lovely addition to your room's interior decor or a thoughtful gift.
Size:
Height: 45cm (excluding hanging cord)
Width: 12cm
The final framed artwork shown is for reference only and does not include a frame. The item will be shipped with hardware and a cord attached to the back.
