Description

This is an oval tray in Negoro-nuri lacquerware.

The technique involves applying a black lacquer base coat, followed by a red lacquer top coat. As the item is used, the black lacquer underneath gradually shows through, creating a pattern.

The balance between the pattern and the size of the tray is excellent, making it a stylish piece.

It can be used for small sweets or as a trinket dish.

Minor scuffs are visible.
Recommended for those who understand antique items.

Size: Width 11.5cm, Depth 8cm, Height 1.5cm
