Product Overview:
Fujimi Tile is a representative brand of Japanese-made Majolica tiles, manufactured in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, from the Taisho to early Showa periods.

The roots of Fujimi Tile lie in Fujimi Ware, a hobby pottery started by a person named Hachiemon Murase in the late Edo period. Later, during the Meiji era, his grandson, Jiroo Murase, was inspired by imported tiles and recognized their future potential. He independently developed a new manufacturing method called dry pressing and began producing tiles. This led to the establishment of Fujimi Ware Gōshi Kaisha (Limited Partnership) and the full-scale production of tiles. Fujimi Tiles achieved great success both domestically and internationally, being exported to Southeast Asian countries and beyond, due to their high quality and beautiful designs.
