Yamazaki Metal Industry YAMACO Metal Paperweight 2 Pieces

Thank you for looking.
This is a set of two identical metal rhinoceros paperweights/desk ornaments manufactured by Yamazaki Metal Industry (YAMACO).

These Japanese interior雑貨 (zakka - miscellaneous goods) were produced around the late Showa period to the 1980s. They are characterized by YAMACO's signature heavy cast metal and a beautiful chrome-like luster. The stylized rhinoceros design boasts a high level of craftsmanship, not only as a functional paperweight but also as a desk object or animal figurine.

This is a set of two identical rhinoceroses, not a pair of symmetrical bookends. Therefore, they are recommended not only for holding books but also as opposing decorative objects on your study desk or shelf.
