This is the bark of Douglas Fir, a giant tree native to New Zealand.
It is a raw log from a giant tree on the west coast of the United States, second only to Sequoia, with a trunk diameter of 1-2 meters and a height of 50-80 meters.
It is widely used for the establishment of epiphytic orchids, as well as for displaying ferns and other plants.
Like cork bark, it can also be used for reptiles.
Unlike lightweight cork, it is heavy.
As it is imported raw wood, it may have debris attached.
