Cane Seat Chair

1930s
Beech wood
Seat is made of cane (rattan)

It was originally used in bedrooms
as a stool for getting ready.

The cane weaving of the seat is beautiful,
and the combination with the wood,
painted in a deep chocolate brown, is lovely.

The cane seat gives it a light and airy feel,
making it charming for spring and summer.

Although it is a simple chair,
the front legs and stretcher are decorated,
giving it a wonderful atmosphere.

The legs do not splay out,
and its compact form makes it easy to place.

It is also easy to carry.

Size (approximate)
H83cm x W39cm x D38cm
Seat width 38.3cm, Seat depth 34cm
Seat height 43.5cm
Please note that there may be some errors.

I loved it very much and cherished it.

It would be lovely as a place to put your bag
in the entryway or living room,
or as a bedside table.

This chair is also cute with a lace or quilt draped over it.

I love these British chairs with cane backs,
and have sold 2-3 before,
but this will likely be the last one I list.

Purchased from an antique shop
that directly sources from the UK.

It has not been used in my home on a daily basis.

It was placed in the guest room as a bag stand.

This is an old chair that has passed through about 100 years.

There are scratches, peeling paint, wood cracks, dents,
stains, dirt, etc. due to age.

Please judge from the images.

Only those who have a good understanding of antiques
and who love antique chairs
should consider purchasing.

The seat is firmly upholstered.
There is no sagging, and I feel the condition is good.
(The 20th image is of the underside.)

There were no points that bothered me personally,
but everyone's perception is different.

Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about even the slightest detail.

I loved it very much,
but I am selling it to declutter furniture that is not being used.

I am unable to pack it myself, so I will use Ta-no-Meru-Bin (a shipping service).
Please understand this in advance.
