Sakai Takayuki Byakko (Hairline Mirror Finish, Hien-gata, 1 Shaku) White Steel 1 *Warped, Handle Not Included* Sashimi Knife
Re-listed!
There is some warping, but the front can be sharpened beautifully.
There are no significant issues with use.
Price negotiation is accepted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It cuts very well, and while the exterior (front) is in relatively good condition, it has an irregular bend, so I am selling it at a low price.
Please purchase after understanding the product condition from the photos and description.
Used in a home. Purchased 2 years ago for 93,000 yen.
Original thickness 4mm, 1 shaku (approx. 30.3cm), blade length approx. 283mm.
This is a Hien (flying swallow) shape, which is not part of the Sakai Takayuki Byakko series lineup.
The item previously listed has been mirror-finished by filing the flat surface with a file in a vertical pattern.
It was slightly warped from the beginning towards the steel side, and the warping has worsened due to manipulation.
However, after back-honing and making the cutting edge almost flat, the knife's overall shape is maintained.
Regarding the shinogi line, the shape is aligned in a beautiful line, but the unevenness of the flat surface remains, so if you sharpen it to that point, it will become wavy.
The handle cracked when it was removed, so it is being sold without the handle.
It cuts very well due to the quality of the forging. It is believed to be by Kenji Togashi. (Upon close inspection, there are flow lines.)
All original accessories will be included in the box.
