70s DeMoulin USA Parade Jacket with Waterbury Buttons
Vintage jacket from DeMoulin Bros. & Co., a US uniform manufacturer established in 1892. This jacket is from the 1970s. DeMoulin Bros. & Co. was founded in 1892 and is one of the oldest and largest uniform makers in America, specializing in uniforms for marching bands and ensembles. The buttons are manufactured by the Waterbury Button Company, a historic company founded in 1812. Waterbury Button Company has a long history of producing buttons for military, police, and various organizations' uniforms. The buttons feature a lyre (harp), a symbol of music, in the center, with a fine line pattern (lining) in the background and dots around the edge. This design has been widely used, from marching bands during the Civil War to modern military bands and orchestra uniforms. The jacket has a beautifully shaped, tight silhouette at the waist. Flat measurements: Shoulder width: 40cm Body width: 47cm Sleeve length: 57cm (can be extended 5-6cm) Length: 67cm Please allow for slight variations. The buttons are placed slightly outward (to create a tighter fit), so moving them inward might give a little more room in the chest area. The buttons are attached with thread using a reinforcing button on the back of the fabric, rather than a change button style. Dry cleaned. However, there are some age-related stains and yellowing on the lining, and some minor scratches and dirt on the exterior, although they are not very noticeable. Please consider this vintage item, which has been through several decades, only if you understand its nature. No claims, no returns.
