This special model combines the versatility and functionality of Alvar Aalto's designs with Marimekko's bright and cheerful essence.

The Kivet pattern, released by Maija Isola in 1956, is said to be inspired by the large, rough stones collected from the grounds of her studio and home. Using the marquetry technique on the seat veneer, different wood grains are combined to create a fusion and interaction of light, pattern, and wood grain, making the pattern appear even more vibrant. The Artek + Marimekko series is made from responsibly sourced Finnish birch wood at Artek's factory near Turku in southwestern Finland.
